Colton on the Baseball Field!

You may remember Colton from our shoot last year! This time around, we had to get outside and get moving! We starting things off at Crump Park and then made our way over to Glen Allen Stadium. Being a photographer is a great way to explore your city, and who knew this awesome baseball field was so close??? We had no idea whether we were allowed to go play on it, but it was too nice to pass up! As you can see in the last two photos, I think Steven enjoyed it as much as Colton Here you go…. Just kidding!

Two sisters, a birthday and a tire swing…

This was our second time hanging out with this family and we had a blast! It was a great start to 2013 for us on a beautiful February day! The occasion you may ask?… Lily’s 1st Birthday! When deciding on a location we were a little strapped for ideas because so many trees are without their leaves this time of year.  When we arrived at George and Melissa’s house we realized the best spot was their backyard which had a beautiful big tree, the sun shining through and none other than a TIRE SWING. The most exciting part was that their large, white house was the perfect reflector. Steven was seriously geeking-out about how convenient that was! Merry Christmas Miss Avery!

You’ve seen Avery before. She’s growing fast but you may recognize her from previous posts. She’s the happiest baby and she just so happens to be the child of some really good friends of ours. What does that mean? Her life will be well documented by yours truly! We love this little girl and to make the situation even better… in a group of people, she can point to “Steven” and she can point to “Lily”… yup, we’ve made an impression A few of our favs from Avery’s Christmas session!

Sweet Baby Laureli

Steven and I don’t have children and we’ve never photographed or worked with a newborn so this was new territory for us!! You may remember Kelly’s maternity shoot that we posted on the blog in May. Well sweet Laureli arrived on June 12th (Steven’s birthday) and we finally got to meet her last Saturday when she was only twelve days old!

Ashton and Madison on Belle Isle

What a photogenic family!! Steven and I got word that a local elementary school was having an online auction to raise money instead of the typical magazines with wrapping paper and cookie dough. Each classroom had a basket and the parents were asked if they could contribute items. We did a family session last Fall for a mom whose son had the basket theme “Picture This”. Guess who she thought of? Well this amazing family that we have on the blog today, purchased that basket! We were thrilled when Ali contacted us a couple weeks ago and said she wanted the very classic Richmond backdrop of the river! Belle Isle it was, and after two rained out dates we finally made it early on a Saturday morning.

The Hopkins Family!

We met the Hopkins family on Brown’s Island last Tuesday. The weather was a little iffy and rain almost threatened the shoot. Thankfully we didn’t cancel because the 95% chance of rain never showed its face. One thing was for sure it was HOT but these kids didn’t care. Beautiful eyes really make a great portrait and this family has some of the best!            We told David to give us his “Cool Dude” look since he was wearing his aviators!                 Best Buds

1 year old and on the move!

Avery is back on the blog, 6 months later. Now 1 year old, she’s mobile and ready for summer!! She showed off her walking skills in the tall grass and was eager to explore! We had a great time with her and her parents in the almost 90 degree heat last weekend. We hope she continues to make many appearances on the blog!                     Lauren you look fantastic!
